Privacy policy

Sell With Reineke is the vehicle buying service of Reineke Family Dealerships, a family owned dealer group trading in Ohio and Michigan since 1960. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Reineke Family Dealerships.

This policy covers this website and the enquiries you send us through it. It does not cover the separate websites of our individual dealerships, which have their own policies.

What you give us. When you ask for an offer or send us a message, we collect what you type into the form. That is usually your name, your phone number and email address, and details of the vehicle: the registration plate or VIN, the year, make and model, the mileage, and its condition. If your vehicle is financed, we also collect the name of your lender and the information we need to request a settlement figure.

What we collect automatically. Our web server records the usual technical information when you visit: your IP address, the type of browser and device you are using, the pages you looked at, and the time you were here. This is standard server logging and is used to keep the site working and secure.

We do not ask for, and would rather you did not send us, your bank details, your social security number, or a copy of your licence through a web form.

• Valuing your vehicle and preparing an offer for it
• Contacting you about that offer, by phone, text or email
• Arranging an appraisal at one of our stores or at your home
• Contacting your lender for a settlement figure, if you have asked us to
• Completing the sale, including the title transfer and payment
• Keeping records we are required by law to keep
• Keeping the website running, secure and reasonably fast

If you ask us for an offer, we will treat that as you asking us to get in touch about it. You can tell us to stop at any time and we will.

We do not sell your personal information.

We share it only where there is a reason to:

• Within the group. With whichever Reineke dealership is best placed to appraise your vehicle.
• Suppliers who work for us. The companies that host this website, deliver our email, and provide the vehicle valuation data we price against. They may only use your information to provide that service to us.
• Your lender. Where you have asked us to settle finance on your vehicle.
• Government bodies. Title, registration and tax authorities, as the law requires when a vehicle changes hands.
• Where we have to. If we are required to by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

Two things on this site are served by somebody else, and your browser contacts them directly when a page loads:

• Google reviews. The reviews shown on this site are collected through Trustindex, which loads them from its own servers.
• Maps. The map on each location page is served by OpenStreetMap.

Those companies may record the request your browser makes, including your IP address, under their own privacy policies rather than this one. Our typefaces are hosted on our own server, so no font provider is contacted when you visit.

This site uses a small number of cookies and similar storage:

• To remember what you have entered as you move through the offer form
• To let our hosting serve pages quickly from a cache
• By the review widget described above, which sets its own

Your browser can block or delete cookies. The offer form may not work properly if you block them.

If you sell us a vehicle, we keep the records of that sale for as long as the law requires us to, which is a matter of years rather than months.

If you asked for an offer and did not go ahead, we keep your enquiry for a reasonable period so we can pick the conversation back up, and then remove it. You can ask us to remove it sooner.

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what information we hold about you
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete your enquiry, where we are not required to keep it
• Stop contacting you

To stop marketing texts, reply STOP. To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link. Neither stops us contacting you about an offer you have asked for.

This site is meant for adults selling a vehicle. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has sent us something, tell us and we will remove it.

The site is served over an encrypted connection and we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us. No website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top of it.
